What a great way to kick off the Spring! This great group painted "Spring Blossoms" with me on Monday at Thr3e Wise Men. I always enjoy the Thr3e Wise Men Paint Parties - Such a fun atmosphere and delicious brews! I look forward to another Paint Party there soon. Meanwhile, check out all the awesome artwork below... Cheers, T

I really enjoy creating art... and as I have learned in the last couple years, I also like walking people through the creation process. When I am able to add to that my love for fantasy art, I can barely contain myself. Such was the case last weekend as I brought the ABC PAINT PARTY and EXCALIBUR to my buddies at WHO'S YER CON. WYC is run by some close friends of mine, so I have been the official artist for the con for the last few years- designing the logo for the event and other various odds and ends- but I decided last year that it would be a great idea to try a GAMER ART edition of the paint party at the con. Didn't get a great response with that event- only 2 people signed up, and Carole managed to wrangle one more person, working the crowd at the con, minutes before we were set to begin. This year was an entirely different story.. We actually had to turn people away! We did change the day from opening day to Saturday, and of course the painting was different, so I think that made some difference. I also believe that the change is coming with the size of the con itself. The attendance of this con grows every year with no sign of slowing. I created EXCALIBUR specifically for WYC, and it was deceptively easy to paint.. I love that it gave me the chance to introduce a little bit of fantasy art into these paint parties that have become such a huge part of my life. Nothing against my other creations- of course I love them all- but this type of art will always have a special place in my heart. The group was fun (one in full costume!) and I led my adventurers fearlessly through IPOD failures and other mishaps.. arriving finally, at our final destination of a completed masterpiece. High XP and treasure awarded to all who survived the quest. ... And we will be back next year for WYC2017! File this one under "N" for NEW EXPERIENCE or NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE or NOW.. WHERE CAN I USE THIS CHALK AGAIN? Because I will DEFINITELY be tackling a chalk project this Summer- you can bet cash money on that! I was able to make some art (and a really big mess) over the weekend at the WOMEN'S FINAL FOUR festivities in downtown Indy.. Still not 100% sure where they got my name, but I want to thank whoever put me on the list! This was a lot of fun as I worked my way through the learning curve of a new media in front of an audience. I came out on the other side of this challenge with a new goal.. I want to try one of those 3D sidewalk pieces over the summer. *EXCITED |
