My Irvington entry turned out great, but it didn't make the final cut.... Another bummer.
Anyway- back to some happier things.. I participated in PAINT DAY for ART VS ART over the weekend. This is the event where the paintings are all pitted against eachother in a duel to the death.... literally. This year I went a different direction with my concept. Last year's winner was a CARE BEAR painting, so I went with a more pop art feel. Last year, I wasn't sure at all what to expect- but it was a great time and a fun experience. This is one of those Irvington type things that I will participate in every year- time permitting. The crazy thing about this event is the outcome is determined completely from the whim of the crowd. The lottery probably has better odds for winning, but I enjoy the happy distraction.
The artistic offering this time is my ART VS ART entry: The Counts 9don't you want to know .. I will put out the call for help in the online voting soon, but for now, just burn the image into your minds.
